2008 Coloring and Essay Contest Winners

Northern Arkansas Telephone Company has announced the winners in the coloring and essay contests it sponsors annually in area elementary and middle schools. The students received cash prizes totaling more than $450, certificates, and ribbons at an awards presentation at NATCO Oct. 30.

About 80 family members and winners attended the awards presentation with snacks of sandwiches, chips, cookies, and soft drinks. In addition to the cash prizes, winners at the awards ceremony received a NATCO “goody bag” containing various school supplies and NATCO company items. Each year, NATCO invites the six schools in Marion and Boone Counties that make up the South Shore area to participate in the contests. Students in kindergarten through eighth grade from Flippin, Yellville-Summit, Bruno-Pyatt, Lead Hill, Omaha, and Bergman are invited to participate.

Essay writers in the fifth/sixth grade and seventh/eighth grade divisions wrote on one of three topics: Career Choice, Recycling, or South Shore Activities.
