NATCO Strengthens
Backup System for Emergencies
NATCO Communications recently completed installation of a new emergency
power protection system for all services, said Steven G. Sanders
Jr., vice president and plant manager.
“Increased backup strength has been a priority of ours, and
it feels good to know we are well-prepared in case weather conditions
threaten to interrupt normal services,” he said. Sanders believes
NATCO customers are the best prepared in the region when it comes
to protection against interruptions of telephone service and Internet
services, whether dialup or high-speed DSL.
Sanders explains that the new Nfinity UPS equipment corrects all
types of power fluctuations and extends battery life. Installed at
Lead Hill, the new equipment will help customers experience reliable
service in the face of commercial power fluctuations and lightning
strikes.
“NATCO already had generator backup on its equipment,” Sanders
stressed, and added, “The new system will allow seamless transition
from commercial power to backup power.”
NATCO land lines continue to work when there is a general power
failure. The new backup disaster recovery system NATCO has available
will further assure phone service availability.
