President, Vice President, and Managers
Our NATCO President, Vice President, and Managers plan ways to meet the telecommunications needs of the public. They oversee other employees, arrange employee job benefits, and work on public relations projects so customers know what services NATCO offers.
Educational/work requirements:
- B.S. or B.A. degree (science, business, engineering)
- 5 years of experience in business - preferably telecommunications
Administrative Assistants and Secretaries
Administrative Assistants and Executive Secretaries assist the president and vice president in their duties.
Educational/work requirements:
- High school diploma with 2 to 4 years of college desirable
- Office and computer skills
- Efficient work habits, dependability
Data Processing Department
Computer Technicians are responsible for the mechanical functioning of the AS400 system, backups, and setup to receive and process toll (long distance calls) from the NATCO switch and outside sources.
Educational/work requirements:
- A. A. (or B.S. preferred) in computer science
Accounting Department
Accountants and Bookkeepers work at NATCO full time, taking care of bills, payroll and taxes. One staff member is a Revenue Requirements Manager and oversees meeting all government regulations.
Educational/work requirements:
- B.S. degree in accounting/ BA/ CPA certifications preferred for accounting supervisor and staff accountant
- B.S. degree in accounting and experience in utility regulations for revenue requirements manager
- A. A. degree or higher preferred for bookkeepers
Customer Service Representatives
Several employees are Customer Service Representatives. Duties include assisting customers with establishing service for their telephone, Internet, or long distance service. Also, customer service reps fill orders, sell services like Caller ID, voice mail, and many others.
Educational/work requirements:
- A. A. degree or greater for supervisor of customer service employees
- High school diploma or greater
- Helpful and friendly personality
- Sales abilities
- Efficient work habits, dependability
Internet Services Staff
Some Internet Services staff help residential and business customers set up their Internet accounts and use them correctly, while other Internet Services staff work on the equipment that actually provides the Internet access service to NATCO customers, such as routers, servers, modems and software.
Educational/work requirements:
- B.S. or B.A. in Computer Science for computer specialists
- B.S. or B.A. in any field plus experience in computers, business, or math for computer services representatives
- A. A. or higher with AS400 hands-on experience for AS400 billing specialist
- High school education with A. A. or B.S. degree preferred in computer science for data analyst
- High school diploma with background in electronics for network services analyst
Plant Department
The Resident Engineer is responsible for planning and/or coordinating all outside plant construction activity and for ensuring that the work of outside contractors is acceptable.
Educational/work requirements:
- B.S. in electrical engineering OR
- An equivalent combination of education and telephony experience
Inside Plant Technician
An Inside Plant Technician
works on the telephone equipment actually inside our buildings. They can activate and deactivate customers' services. They install telecommunications equipment.
Educational/work requirements:
- High school diploma
- Additional education in electronics for telephone equipment technicians
- Additional education in engineering and drafting for service order coordinator
Outside Plant Technician
Several employees are outside plant technicians working in the field doing cable maintenance, plant construction, installation and repairs of equipment.
Educational/work requirements:
- High school diploma
- Courses in electronics
- Courses in telephony
Lineman
A Lineman maintains aerial and buried cable plant system and performs construction duties as required, including climbing poles, placing cable within the underground conduit system, and setting poles with digging machinery.
Educational/work requirements:
- High school diploma
- Prior experience
- Apprenticeship (preferred)
Repair Department
Plant Dispatcher provides professional, courteous, and prompt responses to customers reporting trouble, obtains information and keeps accurate records, writes trouble orders and inputs them into the system.
Educational/work requirements:
- High school diploma
- Additional course work is desirable

On Duty
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday
Overtime may be required of some employees due to weather/other emergencies
Off Duty
Seven paid holidays per year
