Internet-TV
You've heard about Internet-TV, but what is it?
It is movies, video and television programs delivered to your television, PC or laptop via your high-speed Internet connection instead of cable or satellite.
Getting Internet content on your TV can be as simple as connecting a matching cable from your computer to the port on your television (i.e., computer has a VGA output and TV has a VGA input). There are also many devices on the market which allow you to watch these shows on your television via your high-speed Internet connection or WiFi. These devices connect your high-speed Internet with your TV and serve as the control center for your digital media.
The Roku Streaming Media Player, for instance, is remote-control operated and allows direct access to content from Amazon.com, Netflix, Pandora, Hulu and Disney. Other devices such as the Logitech Revue and Apple TV function similarly, as do Internet-ready televisions, which allow you to connect with various media sites to stream movies and TV programs directly to your television. The new generation of gaming consoles such as the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii also allow you to stream Internet content directly to your TV. Some Blu-ray™ players are equipped to stream Internet content as well.
There are several websites that allow you to download television programs and movies for free or purchase (see below) and online content grows each day. Netflix offers unlimited streaming memberships to its subscribers with over 12,000 movies and television titles available for viewing and Amazon.com offers on-demand rentals or purchases of thousands of programs and movies - all via the Internet.
If you are curious and would like to find out more for yourself, NATCO’s Media Center located in the lobby of the Flippin office allows customers to experience firsthand the high-quality picture and sound available via the Internet, on a large flat screen Internet-ready television. We also have demo devices so you can see which works best for you. Come in and try out a Roku Streaming Media Player, Samsung Blu-ray Player or Logitech Revue. We also have Rokus available for purchase so you can pick one up and start watching today! Just another way NATCO wants to help you expand Your World.
