Operator Services
Many public facilities contract independent companies to provide operator services. Some may charge higher rates than you are accustomed to. You may request to speak to a traditional operator service or your preferred long distance company.
Calling
Card Calls
Customers who have calling cards may place calls and charge them to their calling card numbers. These calls may require operator assistance to record the calling card number and may be station-to-station or person- to-person. Customers may apply for a calling card by calling their NATCO customer service representative.
Collect
You can call collect if the person or firm you are calling agrees to pay the charge. To make a collect call, please be sure to tell the operator when you place the call.
Operator
Assisted Calls
Collect, credit card, coin phone, and person-to-person calls may require the services of an operator. Requests for time, charges and calls charged to another number, also require the assistance of an operator. These operator-assisted calls cost more than dial-direct calls.
Person-To-Person
Tell the operator you wish to make a person-to-person call when you wish to talk to a particular person or extension number. Rates are higher than station-to-station and also apply when you talk to an alternate person or extension. Charging starts when conversation begins.
Not Assisted
