South Shore Foundation Welcomes New Board Member

South Shore Foundation announced a new member to their board of directors recently, Carol Short of Bull Shoals. She joins eight other current directors of the foundation. Short earned her B.A. in Sociology and owned a family business in Colorado for several years before moving to the area 8 years ago. She has served for 4 years as Chair of the Bull Shoals Planning Commission, a volunteer position appointed by mayor. Short learned about the foundation when she applied for grant for planning commission and received with a brochure grant form. Short is a lifelong learner who continually pursues her interest in community infrastructure planning and development. She is also personally involved in environmental quality issues and attended the most recent Arkansas watershed conference. She also serves on the board of the Friends of North Fork and White. Carol is married retired two adult sons and one grandchild. South Shore Foundation is the charitable arm of NATCO Communications, a locally-owned, independent telecommunications company since 1951. It is a nonprofit organization working to enhance the quality of life in the South Shore - Bull Shoals Lake - Arkansas region.
