The Public Service Commission, pursuant to Arkansas law, designated Northern Arkansas Telephone Company the "Eligible Telecommunications Carrier" for its service area for universal service purposes. The service area of Northern Arkansas Telephone Company is in Marion and Boone counties, and includes the communities of Flippin, Bull Shoals, Pyatt, Diamond City, Lead Hill and Omaha.

The goal of universal service is to provide all citizens within the service area access to essential telecommunications services. Northern Arkansas Telephone Company is pleased to be an eligible telecommunications carrier and provide important and needed services to its customers and community. 

Northern Arkansas Telephone Company provides single party residence (with universal local usage) and business service for rates which range from $18.15 per month for single line residential customers and $24.40 per month for single line business customers.

This includes access to: Long distance carriers; Emergency services; Operator services; Directory assistance; Telecommunications Relay Services; Other services designates for persons with disabilities; Toll blocking; and Touch tone service.

Use of these services may result in added charges. In addition, Northern Arkansas Telephone Company provides one copy of its annual, local directory without charge.

Northern Arkansas Telephone Company offers qualified customers Lifeline Service. For new applicants, Northern Arkansas Telephone Company offers Link-up services to assist low income qualifying applicants seeking new service with a discount on the cost of installation. If you are a low income customer, you may qualify for Northern Arkansas Telephone Company’s Lifeline Program. This means you will receive a monthly discount for your basic phone charges. The service also includes free toll blocking for qualified customers.
